The Cupping Room

Now where do we start.

It's another place in Canberra at 1/13 University Ave, Canberra ACT 2601. They serve coffee which they purchase direct from the growers. They've got a very interesting menu, that I'll explain later. I was told that we have to be early to get in for breakfast , so we were second in line to get in and my sources were right. By the time our order were served , there was already a cue outside for seats. Why? Let's start with the coffee.

The Coffee,. I had the Cappuccino. It was presented elegantly like any other high end coffee shop so nothing special there. they say the coffee was bought direct from growers, well whoopsy do, brewed coffee is brewed coffee isn't it?

The Food. Now this is a another story. I ordered an egg and bacon steak, keyword steak. I was expecting bacon slices, an egg and a piece of bread probably presented with herbs and other stuff to make it look pretty. But to my surprise the bacon was an inch thick, hence the word steak, it was topped with the egg garnished with herbs, it's got caramelised onions and apple strips and some cream to even it out on the side. The photo does not do it justice as the bacon is buried under all those toppings. I don't say this often but I loved it. It was so well balanced I ate every bit of it. The bacon was thick, did I mention that before.

The place is a bit pricey and you have to be early to get in or else you will waiting for a long time to get seated. It was an experience and if I have the funds will definitely go back. Apparently they won some award which makes it even a novelty to be there.
